sayonara 2009  I can't believe this photo was taken last year this time! Feels like just yesterday that we just finished our O's, started holidaying and counting down to 2009. Now, we're counting down to 2010 and the big A's are coming! Gonna spend the whole day out tomorrow, so I thought I should start my reflections and stuff now! So yup, 2009 is really one freaking eventful year. Where should I begin?  The first 22 friends I made in RJ- my OG. Great bunch of people. Though we're not the most united group, we made the effort to keep in touch, meeting up once in a while and that's really good enough.  Then I had my class- 10SO3R. Went through really quite a lot together. Spent almost all my breaks with them, and because majority are girls, it's rather easy to bond together. Especially during class camp and class chalet, I enjoyed myself so much!    I was really quite worried that I might not get into a CCA, not to mention a proper/high-profile CCA. But then I got into Street. At that time, it was really the best moment of my life. Haha the journey hasn't been smooth really. I wanted to quit so many times because everything was so tough. Schedules, pracs, politics/competition and even just simple dancing became so hard to manage. Somehow I managed to press on because of all the encouragement I got. Now my CCA has turned into a way of life. We spend so much time together trying to perfect each and every performance and still improving and helping each other.   Never thought that I'd be this close with my PW group too. That's also the result of spending like really almost everyday together. Close enough to go shopping together, chatting over the stupidesttt things, talking crap and camwhoring. I know many other PW groups are this close to each other, but considering how ALL our personalities crashed and what kind of first impressions we had of each other, I think we're amazing. Through all these changes and new environments, I'm really glad that my friends still stuck with me and really pull me through this tough year.  Liyan! I think we barely met up more than 6-7 times this year, but it seems like nothing's changed! I'm so thankful that we still hang out like last year. Yes, we were friends only last year but we know so much about each other. Amazing too!    And I'm also super glad for this bunch of buddies. Time just fly when we meet up. I forget all my troubles and really just focus on having fun. And I know at the end of the day, they'll just be there! 2009 was a growing-up year for me. I don't know how to even elaborate how much I've wisen up seriously. I see things from a different view, grew even more cynical (good and bad?), took a big roundabout to learn that simplicity is beauty, and basically learn to appreciate people better. 2009 is over, just like that, gone with the wind. I'm not sure if I can embrace the coming year like how I should anymore. I'm not intending to set any resolutions, because I usually only fulfill maybe 40% of what I aim to? Now I'll only focus on goals! I'm gonna be super disciplined and study hard (& dance hard too)! |
